Country Redirector
Send blocked-country visitors somewhere useful instead of bouncing them. Geo blocking is binary: block or allow. Country Redirector adds a third option — redirect EU visitors to your EU storefront, send "we don't ship here" countries to a contact page, or route a partner's exclusive territory back to that partner. The check runs at the edge before paint, so unaffected visitors see no LCP impact.
What it does
For each country (or list of countries), you set a redirect target — any HTTPS URL. When a visitor from that country hits your storefront, SOptim detects their country at the edge and redirects them to the target before anything else renders. No flash of content, no cookie shenanigans.
The check runs before paint, so the redirect is fast and does not affect LCP for unaffected visitors.
How to use it
- Open Bot Shield → Access Control → Redirects.
- Click Add redirect rule.
- Pick one or more countries from the multi-select.
- Paste the target URL (must be HTTPS, must be a fully-qualified URL).
- Optional: tick Pass through UTM — appends UTM parameters so you can attribute the redirected traffic in your analytics.
- Save. The redirect propagates within a few seconds.
To disable temporarily, toggle the rule off without deleting.

Above the table, a banner shows count of active rules plus how many redirects fired in the last 24 hours.
Common questions
Does this conflict with a country block on the same country? The block wins. We evaluate blocks before redirects. If a country is both blocked and redirected, you'll see a warning chip on the redirect row.
Can I redirect to a relative URL on my own storefront? No — the target must be a full HTTPS URL. This prevents accidental redirect loops.
Does it affect SEO? Search-engine bots (Googlebot, Bingbot) are excluded from the redirect by default — we detect them and let them through to the original page. So your Google rankings are not affected.
Will this work with iCloud Private Relay users? Apple's relay can mask country. We detect relay traffic and skip the redirect for those visitors (they land on your default storefront).
